About Me

I’m Bratislav

Energy enthusiast.
Professional with 20 years in the field.
Author & founder of 1000whats.

For the last two decades I’ve been chasing energy – from power lines in the streets to policies in the halls of government.
I started on the ground, in electricity distribution, a decade that taught me the mechanics of power.
Then came deregulation—and I was on the frontline of change. Senior management in large-scale operations pushed me into markets, competition, and strategy.
The future arrived with renewables. I shifted from public to private, driving strategies that brought clean energy forward, while also shaping legislation to keep the industry on solid ground.
Energy is complex, but I’ve always believed curiosity beats credentials. What kept me moving forward wasn’t just positions or titles — it was the drive to ask “why?” one more time when others stopped.
And 1000whats is simply the place where that curiosity spills out onto the page.
When I’m not thinking about megawatts and markets, I’m a music fan, book lover, traveler, and photographer — and someone who still believes a good guitar riff can fix a bad day.
And sometimes you’ll find me in the crowd, watching my son’s band shake the stage. Those are the moments that recharge me more than any power grid ever could.
