About me

I spent 20 years
inside energy.
Now I explain it.

From power lines to PPAs, from Serbia’s first green energy contract to drafting national legislation — I’ve been in the room where energy decisions happen. 1000whats is where that knowledge becomes useful to everyone else.

My story

From the grid to the page

I started my career where electricity actually lives — in the distribution network. Meters, billing, 600,000 customers, and the messy reality of power delivery in a country going through deregulation. I learned early that energy is never just technical. It’s economic, political, and deeply human.
Then came the transition years. Serbia was liberalizing its electricity market, and I was at EPS — the largest utility in the region — leading the development of new market structures, pricing methodologies, and commercial strategies. We signed the first green energy supply contract in Serbia. We launched guarantees of origin. We built prosumer frameworks from scratch.

I wasn’t just watching energy change. I was helping write the rules that shaped it.

That’s literal, not metaphorical. As a member of Ministry expert groups, I contributed to drafting 13+ national energy decrees — feed-in tariffs, market premiums, renewable hydrogen, balancing rules. I also worked on Serbia’s Energy Strategy 2040–2050, and on EBRD and World Bank-funded projects that modernized the distribution network.
Since 2022, I’ve been at Windvision Development as Offtake Manager, structuring Power Purchase Agreements for renewable projects and navigating the increasingly complex world of liberalized electricity markets.
I started 1000whats because I kept noticing the same thing across every role: people who needed to understand energy couldn’t get a clear explanation. Not investors, not journalists, not even many professionals entering the sector. The knowledge existed — it was just locked behind jargon and complexity. 1000whats is my attempt to fix that, one question at a time.

Why 1000whats

Why I started this

Energy shapes everything. Most people have no idea how it works.

After two decades in the sector — in meetings, in negotiations, in legislative working groups — I kept running into the same frustration. Smart people, curious people, people whose decisions genuinely affected the energy system, were flying blind. Not because they weren’t capable of understanding, but because nobody had explained it clearly.
Energy reporting is either too technical for anyone outside the sector, or too simplified to be useful. There’s a huge gap in the middle — the space where someone who actually knows the field writes for someone who is genuinely trying to understand it.
That’s the gap 1000whats is trying to fill. Not a lecture. Not a textbook. Just clear, honest explanations of how energy actually works — written by someone who has spent 20 years inside it.
Beyond the grid

When I’m not thinking about energy

Music
Lifelong music fan. A good guitar riff still fixes a bad day. And sometimes you’ll find me in the crowd watching my son’s band shake the stage.

Photography
Capturing moments, light, and the kind of details most people walk past. Photography taught me to slow down and actually look.

Books & travel
Book lover and traveler. The best ideas come from reading widely and seeing how different people solve the same problems differently.
